Lost my beautiful Russian Blue, Olivia, in August of 2022…she was my shadow for 17 years. She actually chose me when we visited the animal shelter, tapping me on the shoulder to get my attention. I understand your reluctance to open yourself up to another animal, loving and then possibly losing it. I asked Olivia to “come back to me, before “that shot.” Two months later I adopted another kitten, as I found myself so lonely without my “Livy,” a little calico kitten that we named Phoebe. She’s also my shadow, and strangely very much like Olivia in many ways…born two days after we put Olivia down. Enjoy your new “children!” They certainly enrich our lives in so many ways!!
Great episode.. watched yesterday! And beautiful kitties. I just can't with leaving animals ... it took me a million years and lots of begging by my kid to get a dog after I had to leave my Calypso cat at my sister's farm in Arkansas when I moved to NYC. She was too outdoorsy and I had no idea where I was living. I thought I'd never forgive myself. Little Winston fills my heart with joy and keeps me on schedule. But he has given me a few shocks with his nodes square my moon (he has reversed nodes to me).. he went into anaphylactic shock this Friday as I was taking him for a walk with my Mother in Law. Repeat from 2 years ago.. Mars/Mercury near my North Node.. thought that transit was going to be my Mother in Law with her Mars on my North Node. His Mercury is also on my Ascendent. She was there too and was incapable of helping me. It felt like a cluster fuck, but we survived! Universe always keeping me on my toes.
Your boyz are adorable and I'm sure full of mischief. We had a wonderful kitty for almost 19 years. She was a rescue who came with the name "Annie". She was a "plushette" (said the vet) who was the progeny of a Persian and "alley cat". She didn't have the pushed in face of a Persian but did have the fur (mahogany--almost black) and "pantaloons". She was super smart and would sit with me when I meditated. We took her to our family's cabin when we went on vacations and holidays. I remember one time telling her to stay in the yard while we packed up because we were leaving soon and she sat down and stayed put to supervise our progress. I still miss her!
lucky you and lucky kitcats. They are lovely to look at. our current cat Maebea has been with us over 8 years. She came from living on the road to sit outside and stare at Ron through the window. I am sure she knew that he would feed her and take her in. It's possible that she wil outlive me, one reason I cannot let myself get another young kitty
Congrats on the new members of your family! They're beautiful! We're a cat household, too. We lost our British Shorthair Nessa in July 2024 (grateful for euthanasia to exist, but it's never easy), and her death was almost as painful as my late husband's in 2020. My son and I agreed our house felt like it was missing someone after her death, so we adopted a kitty from our local shelter almost a exactly a year ago. Izzy can also find anything, and she terrorizes her two larger Ragdoll siblings daily. My son wants a Maine Coon next, but I'm trying to talk him out of it.
Beautiful boys. I acquired brother and sister tuxedo cats. Never had before. They are amazing. Sister is the adventurer. Bro just a mello fellow. Cats they make me smile every day.
Ty Frederick I love my cats but turns out I love my dogs too. They are like the cats I've always wanted! Anywhere loved the Dabney youtube and ty for keeping us feeling we are not alone with good sense, humor and astrology!

We now have FIVE rescue cats. We can't seem to stop lol. And yes, we have been at the shot point too.
I love cat people.
And the Lorena Bobbit part had me howling!

What a fun and informative show!!! Sounds like our world as we know it is cracking open, which is unsettling but potentially liberating.
Compassion for our others and our selves is key for me to remember, and Cats remind us where our heart is
