I'm so glad someone spoke this out loud, although maybe others have too. I have seen this too but in other ways.. just seeing him so present in the charts, but then it dissipates after the square. I'm too chicken shit to say this out loud. Just a heads up that the third house astrology link is broken (for me). I'm excited to get your book.. although not sure I can climb into that psychology. Such a great writing prompt!

I like the concept of the cross... which human design gives a birth chart so you bring in the oppositions and the squares to your personal planets. I'm definitely very Virgo oriented to balance all my Pisces (it's weird.. attracted to the detail because my mind doesn't really absorb information very well so I have to figure out ways to use it effectively.. sag is my north node, so trying to figure how to trust my intuition is a hard task)

Thanks, Suzanne. I removed that. Not sure why that went bonkers.

Listening to this was a simulation moment for me (I finished, and am listening again as I type).

First off, I just absolutely, truly, madly, deeply enjoy how the two of you discuss astrology. You overlay it so beautifully through time and space. My Pisces Mercury loves it.

The simulation moment that I am fully lit up about is when you went into the house system conversation… I’m in my first year at Astrology U and we just happen to be in the four week course on Houses. Three days ago in class, I asked if any astrologers held multiple systems in tandem. The question of which house system to use is an insane conundrum, which I find entertaining and insightful. I’d begun holding two house systems in tandem in my imagination (though they do not encourage this at all for 1st years 😂) finding it to be a beautifully rich and flexible way to survey a chart. Anyway, I wanted to know if that was a popular practice, or even a practice at all. The conversation between the two of you was so satisfying to me to listen to; I feel like it blasted some of the fear I was reckoning with regarding picking the “right,” system. THANK YOU.

I am looking forward to a read from the both of you at some point! 👏🏻🙏🏼

As a Gemini sun and moon with a stellium to boot I am absolutely horrified T is one of us. He exhibits the worst of our behaviors and I know why our sign gets a very bad rap in zodiac… Looking forward to the book as I walked past his apartment complex two weeks before they apprehended him…😱

I thinks there are more non left leaning astrologer than shown. I dont consider myself left, closer to a center right independent. Socially center left, fiscally center right. Although, most non left astrologer probably don't wear it on their sleeve because it's not very good for business. Also many modern astrologer came from the 60's so it had a more liberal background although many seems to have gone closer to center as they got older. Anyway as long as an astrologer's basis from analysis comes from an objective astrological data set. Political affiliation doesnt really matter imo. That's a reason that makes astrology a cool thing. It gives a broader more objective, lense to many sphere of life. Helping people understanding events and helping themselves.

The idea of flipping the Zodiac made me think of Jung and his concept of the constellation of opposites: when an archetype appears, it simultaneously activates its opposite in the psyche. As an Aries without Air planets, I have always felt my Libra not so in the shadow side.

Your discourse about the Saturn/Neptune conjunction also brought to mind the Old Testament stories about the Terrible Father God that asks Abraham, the Stern, Obidient Father to sacrifice his son. On the other side, we have the Greek myth of Oedipus, who has to kill his father to fulfill his fate. Young vs old, the sacrificial lamb and the ailing Fisher King.

Great conversation with Nick. I always appreciate his vast knowledge of history in the context of astrology and its cycles. I do academic coaching and over the past year, I've started working with students doing AP World History and AP US History because I suddenly realized that after doing astrology for several years, tracking synodic cycles, and listening to the Astrology Podcast (Chris, Austin, Nick et al), my memory of historical events in the context of astrological cycles is much sharper. It never occurred to me until this year that the cross pollination between the two would be so practical. I can't really talk to my high school AP history students about the last time Saturn and Neptune were in Aries (lol), but I know, and all I have to do is describe the mashup of archetypes to help them wrap their heads around the time period.

I also really appreciated your brief conversation about house systems. I'm a WSH system person too, but I also tend to pull charts with later degree ascendants in Placidus or Porphyry just to see what shifts, and hold it in the back of my mind. My moon moves between the 5th, 4th and 3rd depending on house system, and while I'm quite comfortable with it's 5th house WSH placement, there's a "familial" thread between the 3rd, 4th and 5th that links them - which tracks with my experience. But for certain techniques, like annual profections, I go with a straight WSH approach.
